Privacy Policy & Terms of Service — Last updated: August 3, 2026
This page is a starting template, not legal advice. Before publishing this for a real
app with real users — especially once ads and paid subscriptions are live — have it
reviewed by a lawyer familiar with your jurisdiction and with Google Play's Developer
Program Policies. Replace every [bracketed placeholder] below before publishing.
Privacy Policy
Lossless Share ("the App", "we", "us") lets you share photos and videos in their original
quality via a link or QR code, without requiring you or the person receiving your files to
create an account. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it's used,
and the choices you have.
1. No account, no personal sign-up
The App does not require you to create an account, provide your name, email, or phone
number to use it. Instead, the App signs you in anonymously using Firebase Authentication,
which assigns your device a random identifier. This identifier is not linked to your name,
email, or any other personal profile unless you choose to purchase Premium (see Section 4).
2. What we collect
Files you choose to upload — the photos and videos you explicitly
select to share are uploaded to our cloud storage (Firebase Storage, provided by
Google) in their original quality.
Transfer metadata — file names, file sizes, upload timestamps,
expiry time, and whether a transfer has been viewed or downloaded (Firebase Firestore).
Anonymous device identifier — created automatically by Firebase
Authentication, used only to associate your transfers with your device.
Media library access — the App requests permission to read your
device's photo/video library solely so you can browse and select files to upload.
We do not access, scan, or upload anything you don't explicitly select.
Camera access — if you use the QR scan feature, camera access is
used only to decode a QR code in real time; no photos or video are captured or stored
from the camera.
Advertising & analytics identifiers — if you are on the free
(non-Premium) tier, the App shows ads via Google AdMob, which may collect device and
advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID) subject to Google's own
privacy policy. Premium subscribers see no ads and are not subject to this.
Purchase information — if you subscribe to Premium, the purchase is
processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We receive confirmation that a purchase was
made and its associated product/plan, but we never see your payment card details —
those are handled solely by Google.
3. How we use this information
To store and deliver the files you choose to share, at the link/QR code you generate.
To enforce transfer expiry and storage limits.
To show you your own transfer history within the App.
To serve ads (free tier only) and process Premium subscriptions.
To detect and prevent abuse of free-tier storage.
4. Who can see your files
Anyone with your transfer's link or QR code can view and download the file(s) in that
transfer, until it expires or you delete it. Links are not indexed or discoverable — they
can only be opened by someone you've shared them with. We do not access the content of
your files ourselves except as required to operate the service (e.g. automated deletion
once a transfer expires).
5. Data retention & deletion
Files are automatically deleted from our storage once a transfer's expiry time is reached
(24 hours by default, or a custom period for Premium subscribers). You can also delete a
transfer manually at any time from Transfer History. Because the App uses anonymous
identifiers rather than accounts, clearing the App's data or uninstalling it disconnects
your device from its transfer history; previously shared links continue to work until
their own expiry regardless.
To request deletion of data associated with a specific anonymous identifier before its
natural expiry, contact us at the address in Section "Contact" below with the transfer
link(s) in question.
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your
jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a
child has used the App and shared information with us, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your choices
You can deny or revoke media/camera permissions at any time in your device's App
Settings — the App will simply be unable to let you pick files or scan codes until
permission is granted again.
You can delete individual transfers at any time from Transfer History.
You can uninstall the App at any time, which removes the anonymous identifier and all
local data from your device (previously shared links are unaffected until their own
expiry).
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by
updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using Lossless Share, you agree to these Terms of Service.
If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of service
Lossless Share lets you upload photos and videos and generate a shareable link and/or QR
code that lets others view and download those files in their original, uncompressed
quality, without requiring the recipient to install the App or create an account.
3. Your content
You retain all ownership rights to the photos and videos you upload. We do not claim
any ownership over your content.
You are solely responsible for the content you upload and share. By uploading content,
you confirm you have the right to share it.
You agree not to use the App to upload or share content that is illegal, infringes on
someone else's intellectual property or privacy rights, is sexually exploitative of
minors, harassing, or otherwise violates applicable law.
We reserve the right to remove content and/or terminate access for violations of these
terms, though because the App does not require accounts, enforcement is necessarily
limited to what we can act on via reports or automated detection.
4. Transfers, expiry, and storage limits
Transfers are automatically deleted once their expiry period elapses. We make no
guarantee that files will remain available beyond their stated expiry.
Free-tier accounts are subject to a storage limit (currently 1GB); Premium
subscribers receive a higher limit (currently 10GB) as described in the App. These
limits may change; we'll reflect current limits in the App itself as the source of truth.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the service and are not liable for
files lost due to service interruptions, though we make reasonable efforts to maintain
reliability.
5. Premium subscriptions
Premium subscriptions (Weekly, Monthly, or Annual) are billed and managed entirely
through Google Play Billing, under Google Play's own terms.
Subscriptions auto-renew at the then-current price unless cancelled before the renewal
date. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via the Google Play Store
app (Menu → Subscriptions), or via the "Manage Subscription" link in the App's Premium
screen.
Refunds are subject to Google Play's refund policy; we do not process payments or
refunds directly.
6. No account, no recovery
Because the App does not use accounts, your access to your own transfer history is tied to
your device's local, anonymous identifier. If you clear the App's data, uninstall it, or
switch devices, you will lose visibility into your own prior transfer history (previously
shared links themselves remain valid until they expire). Premium entitlements are
automatically restored based on your Google Play account, independent of this identifier.
7. Prohibited uses
You agree not to:
Use the App to distribute malware, illegal content, or content that violates the
rights of others.
Attempt to abuse, circumvent, or exploit the App's storage limits, expiry mechanisms,
or free/paid tier boundaries.
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App's normal operation.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not
guarantee the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that files will never be lost.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or
consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including loss of files, data, or
access resulting from expiry, device data clearing, or service interruption.
10. Termination
We may suspend or discontinue the service, or any part of it, at any time. You may stop
using the App at any time by uninstalling it.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take
effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
